To receive the prestigious Randonneur 5000 pin (now a medal) a rider must complete 5000 km in official (Audax Club Parisien) randonneur events within four years. This 5000 km must include one ride at each distance in a basic series (200, 300, 400, and 600 km), a 1000 km, a Flèche Pacifique (or equivalent, 360 km+), and a Paris - Brest - Paris (1200 km). You will notice that this adds up to 4060 km. Riders can choose any combination of randonneur events (over 200 km) to fill in the rest. Like the Super Randonneur Medal, the Randonneur 5000 pin/medal is awarded by Audax Club Parisien in France.
