October Permanent:
Sun, Rain, Fall Colours & Kelp Storm
by Graham Fishlock

Graham reported in after his October 19 Permanent #37 "Pacific Shoreline". Interesting conditions. EF

Tracy suggested I might need help from Noah and his Ark. This only turned out to be partly true. The day ended up being like a mini-Hell Week with everything from wind in every direction, drenching rain and even a "kelp storm." Yes, a kelp storm. For about 5 km south of Campbell River the wind was picking up dry bits of kelp and driving them horizontally. It took me a few minutes to realize what was going on requiring sunglasses to protect my eyes.

However, I also had lots of sun and spectacular Fall colours. All of this, plus continually changing ocean vistas made it a wonderful day.
