Note: This is not the official route sheet. Ride organizers may make last minute changes because of road closures or other problems. The route sheet you receive at the start of the ride is the official one.

There has been some confusion as to the start. It is clearly marked on the map; http://ridewithgps.com/routes/2463452

Riders should note the following:
Bring a pen. Be ready to answer questions on your control card at 78, 142 and 193 km.
Use caution at all times.
13.5 to 15.7 - be aware of construction on the highway.
17 to 21.5 - Humpback road is narrow, rough, and has numerous potholes.
21.5 to 32.6 - SOOKE RD/BC-14 W - (Caution Sections without paved Shoulder).
32.6 - Use caution turning Left into the first control.
49.5 to 53.6 you will travel the Galloping Goose to avoid the Robert Cameron Races.
114 to 120 - MILLSTREAM LAKE RD & ROSS DURRANCE RD is narrow, hilly and curvaceous, slow down, enjoy the forest. Watch for traffic
178 to 195 - be aware of the Oak Bay Tea Party and other waterfront activities that will increase traffic along the route.

The ride starts in the Kinsmen Park PARKING LOT off Tillicum on the Gorge, then goes to Sooke via Humpback, to View Royal via Gillespie, to Metchosin via the Lagoon, to North Saanich via Munns and the Highlands, Sidney & Lochside, finishing off along the waterfront via Cadboro Bay.
Our pre-ride took 11:39 Rando time, 8:50 in the saddle @ 22 .7 over 202 km There was a fair bit of stopping to correct the route sheet as this is a new ride.

The important stuff: Coffee shop close to the start - Gorge and Tillicum, Cafes on Happy Valley, Brentwood area, Sidney and the waterfront. Timmy's all over the place. :)

Looking forward to seeing you there.

Steve
