Henri Hillion's personal account of his 1948 PBP was at one point linked from the AC Briochine web site. The Hillion ride is also referenced on the site's excellent club history page. The source file PDF is still on the site, though no longer linked. Notice that it is from a May 1982 club newsletter - so published (republished?) many years after the ride. Here is the direct link to the Source File PDF, and I have put a locally stored backup here. Thanks to Alain Collongues who alerted me to the story. Special thanks to AC Briochine club president Jean-claude GAREL who has graciously allow me use Hillion's story and the control booklet cover.

Hillion's ride was interesting one. Here's a translation from Alain of some of the text accompanying the cover on the ACB history page: "Henri HILLION was in PBP 1948 on a tandem with Hervé ELIES. ELIES didn't finish and HILLION came back alone to Paris with the tandem."

There is also a book about Hillion's ride: "Tandem Solo" by Jean-Claude LE CHEVERE".
