PBP Plaquettes

BC Randonneurs Cycling Club

Paris Brest Paris - 1971 (#7)
Plaquette by Audax Club Parisien
(26 pages - 9 photos)

PBP 1971 is when Robert Lepertel took over as organizer. It was also the first PBP to have its own dedicated follow-up booklet, the plaquette. Participation jumped up from 1961 and 1966 levels, though not as high as 1951 when there were 458 starters and 375 finishers. Thanks to Alain Collongues for sending scans of the entire 1971 plaquette in 2011. Thanks also to Jean Pierre Gagneur who in 2006 sent scans of the 1971 cover and other photos. His scans are still on the 1971 photos page, and at the top of this page. [Eric F - Februaary 2011]
