I did the ride today. Lotsa hills! Perfect weather, if a bit blustery. The wind was helpful roughly half of the time, so I can't complain. Temps from +1C to +11C. 11 degrees in February??? Quite a bit of sand on the shoulders, and when vehicles crossed the centre line to give me more room there was a blinding dust storm. Farmstrong Cider was closed (probably a good thing as I might have been delayed by their wood-fired pizza). Their dog was very happy to see me. I settled for a coffee and apple fritter in Armstrong. I forgot that Salmon Arm closes the Shoemaker Hill on Auto Road in the winter (something to do with the switchback with a 20% grade) so I added a bit of distance with my detour. I finished in 8:40- very happy with that. Great route, fun day.
