One exciting thing happened on the ride. I saw a bear!!!
On Berkeley Ave! It’s in a residential area next to the slough…
I first saw something brown flash on my right in a residential yard. I thought “Oh, No!" as it disappeared behind a large tree. I was expecting a large dog to jump out at me on the other side of the tree. But it was a bear! And he was now just sauntering. He looked at me but was not interested in me.
Apparently most bears are born in January, so this one is probably 16 months old.
It may or may not still be hanging abound it’s Mom. But I saw no other bear.

Another interesting scene I came upon was a women sitting on the side of Camp River Rd in a chair. She had arrived on bike and was now sketching a beautiful scene on the slough. And she herself had created a beautiful scene, especially with her bike in the background. I wanted to stop and take a photo, but I didn’t. It was too much of an effort. I thought maybe she’ll still be here on my way back, but no such luck...

It was windy, but a pleasant temperature.
No flats, no mechanicals.
