Gary Baker and Will Danicek get off their bikes and into the snow on January 23rd. Click to enlarge. [EF]
Will joined a group from the Chilliwack Outdoor Club, led by Gary, snowshoeing to Poland Lake (Manning Park) by a route only accessible with the presence of a deep snow cover. The photo was taken while crossing one of the many ice covered tarns dotting Gibson Meadows. Snowshoeing in deep, heavy snow is great cross training!
An open invitation: I'm likely going to do this route again in mid/late February and would welcome any Club members to come along. Although there are two short steep climbs along this route it would be considered moderately difficult (< 10km with approx. 1000' of climbing). Contact me if you are interested.
