Mike Croy - Member at Large

My name is Mike Croy, I ride my bike year round and cycle commute to work early in the morning as a baker at Save on Foods. I joined the BC Randonneurs in 2007 to date I have completed 3 full super randonneur series, hell week once and a year rounder challenge.

There are many reasons I enjoy randonneur riding which include, the amazing scenery you see on brevets, new roads to explore, fun like minded people to ride with, new personal challenges and other odd things that can happen when your riding through the night. On top of riding brevets I enjoy volunteering for rides and organizing brevets equally. Through the few years I have been involved in this sport I have had the pleasure of meeting many new amazing people both locally, provincially and internationally, whom I'm certain I would not have met if I had not joined the BC randonneurs.

It was very exciting to be able to join the executive in 2013 and I look forward to bringing a fresh, young and enthusiastic vibe to the table. There is so much to potentially try as a randonneur, that it seems like I have only seen the tip of the ice berg and I look forward to new challenges and years of happy delirious riding.

[Received the Roger Street Award for outstanding contribution to the club in 2013. (He was co-recipient with Brynn Croy.)]

[Mike has been Vancouver Island Brevets Coordinator 2013 and 2014.]
