Locations

This is Ken's "e mail Communication # 5" (May 23):

Registration and Bike Check Location (1-4 p.m., Tuesday, July 4, 2006)

- Gary Oak Room, Fairfield Community Place -- enter at 1330 Thurlow Place, Victoria, B.C.
- The Fairfield Bicycle Store is just a block away; and a more up-scale bike store, Fort Street Cycles, is about a kilometre away.

Ride Assembly Point (2:00 a.m., Wednesday, July 5, 2006) - CHANGED LOCATION!!

- Oak Bay Marina, 1327 Beach Drive, Municipality of Oak Bay (Victoria). Men's and Ladies' Washrooms are available. Also, there is lots of space for the of parking of riders' vehicles for the duration of the ride. Please provide me with a piece of paper with your name, rider number and vehicle license number at rider registration. This will be left with the manager of the Oak Bay Marina.
- The ride start location is approximately 1 km. away.

Ride Start

- Per the attached Riders' VanIsle 1200 route sheet, the ride will begin promptly at 3:00 am, Wednesday, July 5, 2006 just beside the HSBC Bank at 2154 Oak Bay Avenue, Municipality of Oak Bay (Victoria). We will ride together from the assembly point to the ride start. Although it is not mandatory, I recommend we ride together (single file) through the 1st 8-10 kms. of the ride -- there are a number of turns and traffic lights that will slow everyone down.

(Route Sheet on a separate page: HERE)

There were some errors in the earlier material I sent to you regarding controls. This has been corrected. Also, the controls include the opening and closing times.

Once again, I hope your training rides, brevets, etc. are going well!

Cheers! .... Ken
