Accommodation Information for the Start / Finish: Victoria

The official lodging is at the Comfort Inn on the corner of Finlayson and Blanshard Streets in Victoria. There is a more economical Traveller's Inn about a block away on Douglas Street near Finlayson. Almost kitty-corner to the Traveller's Inn is a 24 hour Denny's Restaurant. It is about 1-2 k to the start-finish of the VanIsle 1200 which will be at a 24 hour Tim Horton's (Ravine Way) at the Saanich Shopping Plaza. There is a bicycle lane on Blanshard Street to-from the Saanich Shopping Plaza.

Inexpensive - locations vary. The Traveller's Inn In Town, 3025 Douglas Street is the closest to the start-finish. It also has a 24 hour Denny's across the street. Reserve on-line for all the Traveller's Inn Motels at TravellersInn.com

Accommodation Along the Route:

There will be 3 manned controls, but no food or rooms for sleeping. Drop bags will be transported to-from Campbell River and can be accessed at approx. 250k; 450k & 950k. Manned control at Gold River (350k) about 100k each way, west of Campbell River (out and back); Rooms at the control motel can be booked by those riders who want one - Gold River Chalet. The other manned control is at Woss (Rugged Mountain Motel & convenience store - about 575k; and on the return about 775k) riders can book rooms themselves. Most convenience stores and cafes north and west of Campbell River close between 8-10 pm. The Port Hardy Inn is almost across the street from the 24 hour convenience store-gas station we use in Port Hardy. About 675k. Riders can book their own rooms. From Victoria to Campbell River is tourist heaven. So lots of local and tourist traffic. All motels need to be booked early as it is the height of tourist season.
